Obviously the spyder4 doesn't have this issue. I have seen video of spyder 2s taking 8 hours for this kind of calibration. The id3 pro is a lot faster than I was expecting and most of the "thick" LUT profiles I create using large testcharts (1000+ patches) still only take at most an hour. One other note of import is that the colormunki is supposed to take measurements more slowly, I haven't worked with one I don't know if that's true. The difference between the ID3 and the ID3PRO is that the X-rite software is supposed to be factory calibrated to the ID3 PRO using a measurement correction, which I'm trying to figure out how to export (it should be easy).

There is no reason to spend money on the extras the id3 probe packages bring. So if you are going to use the free software out there that is good: ArgyllCMS and DispcalGUI together! The x-rite software is very user friendly but not particularly powerful, the colormunki display doesn't work with the iProfiler program but is the same probe as the id3/id3 pro, which both work with the software.
